Two evenings of performances are dedicated to artists who repurpose, hack or deconstruct tools to produce sound and/or light for time-based performances. The selected artists have built instrumentation using various and varied media formats. In a Frankenstonian spirit, these artists fashion composite instruments, for the purpose of engaging further into the intangible experience. Expanding out, these events will be broadcast …
I recently had the pleasure of performing with Castle If (aka Jess Forrest) in Saskatoon at Jale (the event space above Cafe Sola). Using homemade microphones, sliced + diced records, kiddy turntables, oddity vinyl classics all switched up, this was also a very visual and performative event.
Spine-tingling psychoacoustics, glitches that open abysmal dungeons, and absurd cross-cultural collaborations comprised the very special night of audiovisual immersion known as Digidome. In a voluminous inflatable golf dome in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, a pan-Canadian cast of exceptionally talented and creative audio artists joined forces with a juried international selection of videos and video artists to create this quasi-legendary event. Here, BricoLodge …
