I just finished making the website for a Saskatoon based net.label called Pop Quiz. it is directed by Jon Vaughn. There is a ton of cool underground electronic, noise, and avant garde music to be downloaded here, so rev up your click finger :) www.popquizparty.com
I recently had the pleasure of performing with Castle If (aka Jess Forrest) in Saskatoon at Jale (the event space above Cafe Sola). She’s a really unique character whom I find quite intriguing…her music is synthy and kraut-influenced, with a splash of sort of an electronic goth vibe. Check out the videos and see what you think of our fresh …
I strangely and accidentally ended up in New York for about 6 days a little while ago. Luckily, the Blip Festival happened to be on! Supercool 8bit and chiptune mega party tracks with live visuals galore! There were some nice booths set up by vendors such as Makerbot (nifty new affordable 3D printers).
Here is an article written about the upcoming performances (including Merzbow, Martin Tetreault, and Jon Vaughn and I!) in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada at the annual RE:FLUX festival.

I am really excited to play at the Jolly Jams Boxing Day party at Ramjam this year! It is a bit of a tradition in the Saskatoon scene to have an annual gathering and performance with all of the cool ex-Saskatonians who are back in town for the holidays (we used to call it “Family Get-Together”, hee hee). So in …
Video by VJ Carrie Gates, sound by Phlegm Gadget, dance by Blair Fornwald. (July 2010)
I am mostly posting my newer work on Vimeo, but you can find a lot of my archives on my YouTube page.
I would like to bring your attention to a really wonderful visual and sound artist in Saskatoon named Jon Vaughn. His work is circulating alot these days with zines, art books, exhibitions, and shows in Europe, Japan, and locally. His work is unique in execution and the peculiar fantasy-laden style he has constructed. I suppose there’s not much else I …
I would have to say that this was one of the nicest gigs to do. I was really inspired by the other sets I saw at the festival, and the staff were absolutely incredible. Huuuuuuuge screen!!!
This video was made in February 2006 in order to be used as projected video during a crazy show with Saskatoon noise band, Milkhorse. Since then, it has been used as VJ source footage and a hypnotism tool!
