Robin Mang

(Regina, SK)

As an avid record collector and all around vinyl enthusiast, he is always digging up classicgems sure to lay down the boogie and provide a great time for everyone involved.

US Marshall

(Saskatoon, SK – Connect Tribe)

https://www.mixcloud.com/djusmarshall/dj-us-marshall-live-connect-21-genesis/

Marshall is one of the Production and Talent managers of The Connect Festival, Canada’s longest running electronic music festival and has been playing music for just over 19 years making him a “veteran” in the local Dj community. A distinct ear for music, solid mixing, impeccable programming and the ability to play any time slot keeps Marshall in demand for gigs and festivals all across Canada. A featured artist at Astral Harvest (AB), Oh Canada! (SK) and MEME (MB) in past years, the future sees Marshall taking a step back from Dj’ng to focus on his new family. Marshall keeps a ferocious pace for someone of his age and experience but as he get older and things get busier he is becoming more selective of when and where he plays. The man who always plays one of the “sunrise sets” on the Main Stage at Connect, he is as dedicated as he is old. A Dj who loves to be the “set up” guy or “the closer”, something most Dj’s hate, Marshall rarely gets the recognition he deserves: The guy who sets the tone for many of the best parties out there, or sends everyone home with huge smiles on their faces. Marshall loves music of all kinds and you can tell it by the smile on his face and the sounds emanating from the speakers. House with a jazzy, soulful feel, gritty tech and soothing vocals are always focal points of Marshall’s sets, which often turn into adventures all in themselves. Anytime you get to see or hear him, whether playing or dancing, make sure you go and say Hi, Marshall has the reputation of being one of the nicest guys around, and always has a funny story to share.

Danger Bay

(Saskatoon, SK – Skylab)

Dane Hanson has always had an extreme love for electronic music. Growing up on Boards of Canada, Plaid, U-Ziq and “IDM” he was an avid collector of all things spacey, glitchy and abstract.

Danger came onto the Saskatoon scene in full force; DJing non-stop, constantly promoting events, and making a name for himself as a positive, energetic, healthy influence in the local electronic music community for the past 6 years.

He is one of the founders of the Skylab crew and label boss of the newly crafted “Skylab Records” record label. Skylab has made a name for itself as one of the best crews for underground electronic music in Saskatoon, bringing DJ’s and producers in from across the country such as The Funk Hunters, DJ Czech, Esette, The Librarian, Neon Steve, Chris Komus ,Max Ulis, LONGWALKSHORTDOCK, Nathan Zahn, Justin Kace, Jereme Oliver, and many more.

From House & Techno to Trap & Future Soul, His high energy sets are sure to get you off the chairs and onto the dance floor as it’s a rare site to see him standing still behind the decks.

With a love for music and a thirst for production, he is always continuing to expand his skills as a DJ, Producer, Promoter and Label Boss.

“Don’t Forget to Look Up.”

VJ Carrie Gates

(Saskatoon, SK – Undervolt & Co.)

Carrie Gates’ video mixing works use sound-reactive 3D processing and unusual rhythmic juxtapositions to create throbbing, psychedelic, responsive compositions that add a new dimension of interaction and intrigue to any environment. Abstract digital imagery is mixed live with hand-shot, performance-art-influenced footage, to create a hypnotizing, bent reality that is infused with concepts of visual music, set in a glitched-out 3.0 fantasy realm. Gates creates websites and print materials for small businesses, academic organizations, Aboriginal communities, artists, and music labels. She has played an active role in the experimental electronic music scene and independent artist-run organizations since the mid-1990s. Carrie Gates has a degree in Art History from the University of Saskatchewan.
